I struggle with the disparity of the life I lead and what I see around me. Tired of being a consumer who watches from the sidelines; never shaping my life to be someone who can make the difference locally and globally. Becoming an agent of change is seemingly easy, but difficult to start and maintain with our American lifestyles. I was moved by Casey Neistat's Video of his relief mission to a typhoon ravaged Philippine island. With $25,000 he accomplished an incredible feat; doing more than NGO's and established relief organizations in a very short amount time. Watch it here: What would you do with $25,000.
I follow athlete/author Rich Roll and was introduced to Scott Harrison of Charity Water through the Rich Roll Podcast. Harrison's fascinating life took him from NYC nightlife promoter to a volunteer on a hospital ship off the coast of Liberia. It was here that a line was drawn from the patients needing care to the lack of clean water. Listen to the podcast here: Why clean water changes everything.
If we are productive, we are busy. I'm no exception. I am personally involved with couples who are committing there lives to each other. French Picnic plays a significant role on their wedding day. It is a responsibility that I take very seriously and really enjoy! Ultimately, the question was asked: How can I use my very small business and relationships to make an impact on the world. Philanthropy that is scalable and transparent on all levels. Large companies can do it...so can I. French Picnic is a proud monthly supporter of the water needs for 12 individuals. This is just the beginning. Please join me and give to Charity Water. If you have questions, contact me at [email protected]
